Sponsorship Spotlight Susan R

I first got involved with child sponsorship through Tios for Hope two years ago when our family traveled to Guatemala on a short term mission trip.  We fell in love with Maná de Vida and the work they do there. They are helping the children and families of Escuintla to break the cycle of poverty in the area.  Maná de Vida provides not only education but physical and spiritual needs as well.

I have benefited from being a sponsor by being able to partner with Maná de Vida.  I am able to be a small part of bringing Jesus’ love to Escuintla.  I have also been able to communicate with my sponsored girls and get to know their situations and hearts.  This program means that I am not just sending money each month without being able to see the fruits of what is happening, but instead, I am able to have a relationship with the students there and see their lives change.  I am able to pray specifically for them, and I know that they pray for me as well.

Now when I go to Escuintla, my favorite thing is seeing Rosita’s face light up with a smile when she sees me. I also love the camaraderie with all the students.
